Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects primarily in, but not limited to, the transportation market.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality control to ensure successful project completion.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise in structural analysis, design, and materials selection.
- Oversee and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, review and approve project documentation, reports, and specifications.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while resolving technical challenges.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
- Provide clients with technical support and subject matter expertise on transportation structures related issues.
- Conduct appropriate cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license required.
- 15 years of experience in structural engineering and project management.
- Proven track record of managing structural projects.
- Strong proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., OpenBridge/LEAP, MIDAS, OpenRoads, MicroStation).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, clients, and contractors.
- Experience working in multiple states is a plus.
- Project and/or client management experience is required.
- Ability to guide junior staff as well as participate in the design and detailing of all aspects of small- to large-scale structural projects of varying technical complexity.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Teams.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication, as well as time management skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client needs and deadlines, as well as other assigned project parameters.
