Do you want to use your tax expertise to help boost investment and grow the UK economy?

Do you want to be part of a team where flexible working is the norm?

If the answer is yes, then a leading role in the new Advanced Tax Certainty Service could be the right move for you.

The government is committed to providing increased stability and certainty to support businesses to invest and boost economic growth. At Budget 2025 the Chancellor announced the establishment of the Advance Tax Certainty Service (ATCS). This team will play a pivotal role in providing upfront tax certainty on major investment projects.

It is an exciting time to join the team, as the ACTS is in the formative stages of development. The successful applicants will have the opportunity to play a leading role in successfully implementing the new service, working collaboratively across HMRC and feeding into an area that is continually evolving.

The Advanced Tax Certainty Service will be part of HMRC’s Business, Assets & International (BAI) directorate, which sits at the heart of government tax policy making. It is HMRC’s centre of expertise for business, international, and capital assets taxation - advising on policy, legislation, and technical issues. We help shape tax regimes to support HMRC’s strategic goals: closing the tax gap, improving customer experience, modernising tax administration, and supporting wider economic aims.

HMRC is the UK’s tax, payments and customs authority. Our purpose is to collect revenue to fund public services and provide targeted financial support to families and individuals.
