Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer to assist with individual and small business tax returns during the busy tax season. The ideal candidate has strong technical tax knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual (1040) and small business (1120, 1120-S, 1065) tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Collect, organize, and verify client financial documents.
- Communicate with clients to gather missing information and explain tax return results.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and protect sensitive client information.
- Stay updated on current tax laws and IRS regulations relevant to the season.
Qualifications
- Prior experience preparing tax returns (individual and/or business).
- Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., Intuit ProConnect, Drake, Lacerte, or similar).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a client-service mindset.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Schedule & Compensation
- Seasonal role: January through April, with potential for future seasonal work.
- Flexible schedule; overtime required during peak weeks.
