Summary:
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for administering the company quality program in accordance with customer and company requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspects and approves incoming materials and product to engineering and ensuring conformance to specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable product, are processed through proper procedures.
- Inspects in-process production to engineering and ensuring conformance to specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required rework to area operations management.
- Approves finished products to engineering and ensuring conformance to specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports, job travelers, FAI’s, squawk sheets and logs as required
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and reporting/requesting repairs when needed.
- Perform hardness tests and conductivity, using hardness testing machines and meters.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
- Reject products not meeting specifications
- Prepare reports covering product and/or materials scrapped or salvaged
- Communicates effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts
- Accepts and adapts easily to change
- Ensures that all activities are consistent with Company Mission Statement
- Maintain a safe and positive working environment

Requirements:

- 1 years of previous experience required; aircraft parts inspection preferred
- Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
- Knowledge of AS9100 Rev C preferred
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Read, write, and speak English fluently
- Proficient with basic shop math
- Sense of urgency
- Ability to meet frequent short timeline goals and deadlines
- Well-developed communication skills
- Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding to supervisor’s direction; and taking responsibility for own actions
- Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed, and perform work independently without being prompted
