Summary: The Operations Support Specialist provides engineering and operational support to manufacturing by improving production processes, coordinating shop floor resources, and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations. This role works closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to implement process improvements, support capital projects, and help maintain the tools, materials, and systems needed for a safe and productive manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides expertise in production engineering disciplines.
- Applies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions and coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required.
- Develops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principles.
- Leads and participates in planning/executing proposed capital projects. Provides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staff.
- Supports shop floor managers as required by procuring shop consumables, arranging for shop tool repairs, tool fabrication and rework coordination.

- 3-5 years of experience (OR a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience) in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support
- Adequate level of understanding of sheet metal detail and/or assembly manufacturing process
- Experience with Process, Procedure and Continuous Improvement
- Strong listening skills and a willingness to learn
- Ability to work cross-functionally and across multiple locations
- Basic computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, ability to navigate through engineering models)
- Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding to supervisor’s direction; and taking responsibility for own actions
- Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed, and perform work independently without being prompted

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- ERP experience (Epicor or Syteline)
- Manufacturing/shop floor management experience
- Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma experience
- Understands RCCA process, can prepare a business case, process improvements
- Knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP standards
- CMM knowledge

This position may require access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies and/or documents. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and meet the requirements of being a “U.S. Citizen.”
