Job description
You will be a great fit if you have experience similar to:
Lead the Seed Quality Inspection Lab by overseeing visual inspections and ensuring adherence to quality standards
Train and supervise team members in conducting seed inspections for physical purity, identifying off-types, and detecting damaged or discolored seeds
Ensure timely receipt and processing of all plant-collected samples to maintain workflow efficiency
Manage germination updates and oversee recontrol sample procedures to support ongoing quality assessments
Collaborate with the team to perform seed counts, moisture analysis, and crack testing
Prepare and package small seed samples for further testing, ensuring proper handling and labeling
Coordinate the shipment of samples to external testing facilities, maintaining accurate documentation
Record and track quality data using systems such as Starlims and JDE for analysis and review
Partner with the Quality and Performance Manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives at the Nampa facility
Support implementation of the in-house quality and operational excellence plan across all departments, including enhancing the use of Aquarius
Assist in reviewing quality complaints (internal and external) and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions
Train seasonal staff to ensure consistent quality outcomes and adherence to inspection protocols
What we expect of you
To be considered, you will need:
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
Minimum of 2 – 6 years related experience
Knowledge of office functions and processes, including MS Office and JDE a benefit.
Excellent analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Fluent in English. Spanish or French a plus
Experience with continuous improvement programs and/or LEAN manufacturing desired.
