Shop Helper

HM Brandt LLC is seeking a Part Time 2nd Shift Shop Helper to join our team. Ideal candidate will have basic mechanical aptitude or possible experience working in a shop environment, and have a valid drivers license. This is an entry level position & we will train a motivated individual. Minimal experience is necessary to apply. This is a great opportunity for a student or young professional looking to gain hands on experience in the industry working with our inhouse mechanics or fabricators on a variety of different heavy equipment and trucks (must be 18 years or older). Approximately 20-25 hours per week are available working 5pm to 10pm. HM Brandt is Demo company that works throughout Southeastern WI and performs demolition on a variety of project types from warehouses, commercial spaces to restaurants and much more. Job description includes but not limited to the following:

• Washing trucks and trailers
• Pickup parts or equipment from local vendors or jobsites.
• Tire mounting and repairs (we will train)
• Assisting with yard or shop upkeep activities
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy equipment & trucks under supervision of shop manager or mechanic.
• Cleaning shop and work area as needed to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist lead mechanics on repairs.
• Perform basic maintenance on heavy equipment & trucks under supervision of shop foreman or mechanic.
• This position could track into potential future opportunities as a diesel Technician

Qualifications:

• Willingness to take direction & learn new skills in a fast paced environment
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work on your feet throughout the day.
• Ability to lift at least 50 Ibs
• Ability to follow direction and safety procedures.
• Desire to work as part of a team.

Education

• High school or equivalent (required or in progress)

Desired Qualifications:

• Basic mechanical knowledge and general mechanical aptitude
• Experience polishing stainless and aluminum is a plus but not required

Salary: Based on experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
