Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of forklifts including reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load, unload, move, and position materials within the warehouse.
- Perform order picking using barcode scanning technology to ensure accurate shipment processing and inventory control.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to safety standards in production and warehouse safety protocols.
- Manage inventory levels by accurately recording movements in the warehouse management system (WMS) and conducting regular stock counts.
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments against documentation and preparing goods for dispatch.
- Follow manual handling procedures for heavy lifting tasks while maintaining proper ergonomic practices to prevent injuries.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts (reach truck, cherry picker, clamp truck, Hi-Lo), pallet jacks, and manual handling tools.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards in production environments and forklift safety protocols.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to weights, measurements, and inventory counts.
- Strong understanding of materials handling techniques including heavy lifting, load & unload operations, and manual handling safety practices.
- Warehouse experience with inventory management systems and warehouse distribution processes preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards in warehouse operations.
- Valid certification or training in forklift operation; additional certifications such as reach truck or cherry picker operation are a plus.
