POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Cloud Solution Architect for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Modern Disability Claims. The Cloud Solution Architect should have a minimum of 8 years of experience in IT and cloud architecture to design and implement scalable, secure, and FedRAMP-compliant environments on AWS, Azure, or GCP. This is an opportunity to lead critical cloud initiatives, shape infrastructure strategies, and ensure federal compliance in a dynamic and fast-paced environment REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Citizen. Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields. 8 years of experience in IT with a focus on cloud engineering and solution architecture. Strong experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP. Professional-level certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect). Proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies. Deep understanding of cloud security frameworks, identity management, and FedRAMP/NIST compliance. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience presenting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, or GCP, leveraging at least 8 years of hands-on experience. Architect cloud environments that comply with FedRAMP, NIST, and federal security standards. Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent for provisioning and management. Drive cloud modernization efforts and lead solutioning for complex federal and enterprise-level projects. Collaborate cross-functionally with security, DevOps, and application teams to integrate cloud solutions into the broader IT ecosystem. Conduct architecture assessments, cost analysis, and implement optimization strategies.Document and present detailed architecture diagrams, security models, and deployment strategies. Stay abreast of evolving cloud technologies, federal regulations, and security best practices.
