What you’ll do
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear all appropriate PPE as required for each task.
- Operate Blanchard grinders to achieve precise dimensions and surface finishes on various materials.
- Prepare all work pieces with hand grinder and stones for proper seating on magnetic chuck.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining specifications and tolerances.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges to ensure quality control.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on grinding equipment to maintain optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and implement lean manufacturing practices.
- Engage in assembly tasks as needed, ensuring all components meet quality standards.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during machining operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Basic qualifications
- Solid mechanical knowledge with experience in machining processes, including Blanchard or milling machine operations.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to machining tasks
- Preferred qualifications
- Experience operating reciprocating type surface grinders
- Familiarity with magnetic chucks and shimming for square or taper
