About the Role
HL Mando is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer III to serve as the technical lead for suspension damper design and development within vehicle programs. This role is the primary technical interface for customers and internal cross-functional teams, supporting development from concept through production launch.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the main technical contact for customers on design, development, issue resolution, and program alignment
- Lead engineering development for suspension damper and module programs based on customer requirements
- Review customer specifications, assess feasibility, and support technical proposals
- Coordinate program execution with internal teams and external stakeholders across multiple regions
- Track timelines, action items, and open issues; drive closure and escalation as needed
- Lead design validation and production validation activities and present results to customers
- Coordinate prototype builds with design, test, and program teams
- Support PPAP gate reviews and related documentation
- Troubleshoot technical issues during development and production
- Contribute to launch readiness and manufacturing deliverables
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5 years of experience in suspension or damper design/application, or 8 years in chassis design/application
- Working knowledge of damper technologies
- Experience working directly with OEM customers
- Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting design validation, production validation, and PPAP
- Background in prototype build support and launch activities
- Experience working in a global, cross-functional environment
- Familiarity with vehicle program development cycles
- Strong presentation skills and customer-facing technical leadership experience
