About this job
As a SUE Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the oversight of SUE investigations and utility design plans. This role requires an understanding of utility design. You will be responsible for managing utility design projects from preliminary site investigation through municipal submittal. The role includes oversight of junior staff and review of design plans, coordination with field operation supervisors, and working with municipalities to obtain design plan approval.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Communicate with clients on utility designs, conflicts, and resolutions.
- Review and supervise junior staff members on Utility Plan set production.
- Coordinate with governing municipalities through plan submittal process.
- Recommend where supplemental field investigation is necessary.
Requirements
- EIT certification required
- Colorado PE (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in GIS, land development, civil engineering, or related fields
- Local market experience preferred but not required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Proficiency with technical software including ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation platforms
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
Salary:
$90,000 - $120,000
Your actual pay will be based on your applicable experience.

- Underground utilities: 4 years (Preferred)
- Civil 3D: 4 years (Preferred)
