The Opportunity

As a Senior Consultant, you will be an integral part of our delivery team, contributing your technical expertise and supporting the successful completion of commissions. Working closely with project leads, you will ensure quality outcomes, commercially sound delivery and an excellent client experience throughout each engagement.

You will make a meaningful contribution to our work by:

• Delivering high‑quality technical outputs within defined areas of expertise, ensuring accuracy, clarity and alignment with project requirements.
• Supporting the management of commissions, executing assigned responsibilities in line with HKA standards and helping to ensure commercial, quality and client satisfaction outcomes are met.
• Taking ownership of your development, seeking learning opportunities and contributing to the growth of junior colleagues through mentoring and support.
• Building and maintaining client relationships, engaging proactively and identifying opportunities to promote additional HKA services.
• Contributing to business development, including supporting bids and proposals, participating in networking events, producing thought leadership and acting as a brand ambassador through the quality of your work.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks, ensuring commercial awareness and sound judgement are applied throughout project delivery.
• Experts only (where applicable): Supporting testifying experts by assisting with the formulation, testing and review of expert opinions within defined areas.
  
  

Skills & Experience

We’re looking for a motivated and capable Senior Consultant who brings:

• A relevant technical qualification (degree or equivalent) or higher‑education certificate.
• A relevant postgraduate technical qualification (preferred).
• 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the engineering and construction industry or a related professional services environment.
• Experience contributing to or supporting the development and securing of fee‑earning consultancy work (preferred).
• Membership of a relevant professional body (desired).
• Strong professional excellence, commitment to quality and an ability to work effectively within collaborative teams.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of the business and financial factors shaping project delivery.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
