What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-Treatment Plant Technician position at HK Solutions Group?
HK Solutions Group operates an industrial pre-treatment transfer station in Sioux Falls, SD to remove oils and metals from non-hazardous liquid, sludge and solid waste. We are seeking a Pre-Treatment Plant Technician. This is a full-time, day shift position. Primary working hours will be Monday-Friday 7-3:30.
JOB DUTIES
- Perform daily facility inspections and address deficiencies
- Track incoming/outgoing waste shipments
- Treat wastewater via oil/water separation, chemical precipitation and carbon absorption
- De-water and/or stabilize solid and sludge waste
- Monitor tank capacities to optimize plant capacity and function
- Operate vacuum trucks, skid loader, pumps and/or roll-off trucks in a safe manner
- Perform necessary housekeeping to keep work areas safe, clean and organized
- Follow all safety, security and compliance requirements
- Wear and properly use safety equipment at all times
ENVIRONMENT
- Lifting, climbing and bending
- Must be able to work on feet most of the day
- Varied weather working conditions in hot, cold and wet conditions
- Strong odors and smells
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Industrial wastewater pre-treatment experience is preferred, but not required
- Facility maintenance experience is helpful
- Equipment operation (skid loader, forklift, etc.) experience is helpful
