My firm is currently working on a Master Scheduler role with a growing manufacturing client in upstate NY. The role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing the integrated production schedule across manufacturing operations in machining, brazing (vacuum and dip), assembly, and finishing operations.
Responsibilities
Integrated Production Scheduling
- Develop and maintain the master production schedule (MPS) within the Visual ERP system
- Align demand (customer orders, forecasts) with capacity constraints
- Machining
- Deburring
- Vacuum and dip brazing
- Hardware installation and final assembly
- Finishing operations
- Sequence work to optimize flow, throughput, and bottleneck utilization
Constraint & Bottleneck Management
- Identify and actively manage production constraints (e.g., brazing capacity, critical machines, labor availability)
- Continuously rebalance the schedule to:
- Maximize throughput
- Reduce past due backlog
- Support revenue commitments
Execution & Schedule Adherence
ERP System Ownership (Visual)
- Maintain accurate scheduling data within Visual ERP:
- Lead times
- Run times / setup times
- Routings and work order statuses
- Ensure system integrity to support accurate and executable schedules
Risk Identification & Recovery Planning
- Identify risks to delivery (material shortages, capacity gaps, quality issues)
- Develop and drive recovery plans, including:
- Schedule re-sequencing
- Overtime / alternate routing
- Workload balancing
Reporting & Communication
- Provide clear, actionable updates on:
- Schedule attainment
- Past due orders
- Capacity constraints
Key Performance Metrics
- On-Time Delivery (OTD)
- Schedule adherence
- Past due backlog reduction
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of experience in production planning / scheduling in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with ERP systems (Visual ERP strongly preferred)
