Summary
Support classroom instruction and student success under the direction of a certified teacher. You’ll provide small-group and 1:1 support, help implement behavior and academic plans, assist with special education data/IEP tasks, and keep the classroom running smoothly—so every student has what they need to learn and thrive.
What You’ll Do

Provide small-group/1:1 academic support; reinforce lessons, accommodations, and behavior goals.

Help with classroom management and supervision (arrival/dismissal, lunch, recess, transitions, events).

Assist with special education tasks: data collection, IEP/ARD preparation, progress monitoring, accommodations.

Support testing/assessments (setup, proctoring, accommodations as directed).

Prepare learning materials, organize supplies, and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Communicate promptly and professionally with teachers, students, and families as appropriate.

Use basic technology (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office, district platforms) for documentation and communication.

Perform other campus-based duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need

Educational Aide Certificate (Texas SBEC) or eligibility to obtain (district timelines apply).

Meet one ESSA standard: 48 college hours, Associate’s degree or higher, or passing an approved local academic assessment.

Strong communication, patience, and a student-first mindset.

Ability to follow teacher plans, maintain confidentiality (FERPA), and work on a team.

Reliable, organized, and comfortable supporting diverse learners.
Nice to Have

Experience in K-12 settings (general or special education).

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

CPI/Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain).

Familiarity with IEP documentation and data tracking.
