Job Summary: The accounts receivable position is responsible for providing a fiscally accurate check-out experience for each patient. The position is responsible for gathering accurate information about patient insurance and for collection of all fees due from patients on the date of service and for billing and allowed amounts due from insurance companies. M-F hours are 39 per week.
Essential Duties:
- Manage and collect accounts receivable from patients
- Manage and collect accounts receivable from insurance companies
- Prepare and finalize invoices for each patient encounter so insurance claims (paper and electronic) can be filed to medical and vision insurance carriers.
- Answer phones, accurate insurance verification and other duties as may be assigned.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in medical billing, optometry, and/or bookkeeping, with preference given to those with college education
- Experience with insurance verification, navigating insurance websites/portals
- Experience with an Office Management Software (Crystal PM, etc.)
- Detail orientated
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Preference will be given to those with a bachelor's degree
