Structural Engineer / Civil Engineer

Job Description

Overview:

Hixson Consultants, Inc. (HCI) is seeking a qualified Senior Consultant / Professional Engineer with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Civil and/or Structural Engineering. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Building Science and Building Envelope practices, including design, materials, construction methods, and consulting procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering expertise in Civil and/or Structural projects
• Conduct building science and building envelope assessments
• Prepare professional reports and documentation
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure high-quality consulting services
• Manage projects, clients, and teams as required
• Apply knowledge of building materials, construction techniques, and design principles
  
  

Qualifications:

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Alabama or surrounding states – Required
• 10 years of experience in construction, consulting, design, or building science – Preferred
• Management experience – Preferred
• Strong professional reporting and documentation skills – Required
• Proficiency in CAD/Drafting – Preferred
• Continuing education or certifications in Building Science (e.g., Thermography, Building Forensics, Building Commissioning) – a plus
• Excellent communication skills – Required
• Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills – Required
• OSHA training – a plus
• WUFI training and experience – a plus
• Must be willing to submit to background check and drug testing
  
  

Compensation:

Salary and bonus compensation are commensurate with experience, expertise, and dedication as determined by the company.
