Experienced Residential Punch Out Technician

We are a well-established basement finishing company looking to hire an experienced individual or 2-man team for punch-out on projects. The ideal candidates will have a solid, well-rounded background in carpentry and residential construction with the ability to handle various finishing tasks on basement remodeling projects. The Residential Construction Punch-Out Technician is responsible for completing final construction details, addressing minor deficiencies, performing touch-ups, and ensuring projects are finished to HIVEX standards before final walkthrough and customer turnover.

The ideal candidate has hands-on residential construction experience, takes pride in their work, can troubleshoot problems independently, and understands the importance of leaving every job looking its best.

Responsibilities:

• Complete punch-list items and final corrections on residential basement finishing projects.
• Perform minor drywall repairs, sanding, painting, caulking, and finish touch-ups.
• Complete trim work, baseboard adjustments, door and hardware adjustments, and other minor carpentry tasks.
• Identify and correct cosmetic imperfections and workmanship issues.
• Inspect completed work for quality, consistency, and attention to detail.
• Address deficiencies involving flooring transitions, trim, paint, and other finish details within the technician's skill set.
• Coordinate with project managers to prioritize punch-list items and communicate outstanding work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
• Ensure tools and materials are properly maintained and used safely.
• Help prepare projects for final inspection, customer walkthrough, and completion.
• Represent HIVEX professionally when working in customers' home

Requirements:

• Previous experience in residential construction, remodeling, finish carpentry, or a similar hands-on trade.
• Working knowledge of basic carpentry, drywall repair, painting, caulking, and construction finishing techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Reliable, organized, and able to manage time effectively across multiple projects.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to safely lift materials, carry tools, and perform physical construction work.

Job Location: Central Virginia, primarily in the Culpeper-Charlottesville region.
