Overview:
HIVE design-build is seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter II to join our growing team of residential remodeling professionals. This role is ideal for a seasoned carpenter with a strong foundation in kitchen and bath remodels, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to take the lead on specific tasks and oversee others when needed.
As a Carpenter II, you’ll work closely with the Lead Craftsman to carry out high-quality remodeling projects while supporting and mentoring Carpenter I team members. You’ll contribute to delivering beautifully finished spaces with care, craftsmanship, and client respect—all part of what makes Hive unique.
Key Responsibilities:
· Independently execute advanced carpentry tasks including framing, custom trim, cabinetry installation, and finish work to a high standard.
· Interpret construction drawings and plans with minimal oversight.
· Support the Lead Carpenter in coordinating daily site operations and task delegation.
· Provide guidance and support to Carpenter I team members and help maintain a productive, respectful job site environment.
· Maintain and enforce job site cleanliness, safety, and organization.
· Communicate progress and potential issues clearly to the Lead Carpenter.
· Ensure all work aligns with Hive Design-Build’s standards for craftsmanship, detail, and client satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
· 4 years of residential carpentry/remodeling experience, with a focus on kitchens and bathrooms.
· Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, and layouts.
· Strong knowledge of finish carpentry, cabinetry, and remodeling techniques.
· Ability to work independently or as part of a team, managing time and tasks effectively.
· Experience maintaining job site safety and cleanliness.
· Reliable transportation and ability to transport tools and materials.
Preferred:
· Prior experience mentoring or guiding junior carpenters.
· Familiarity with project management software (BuilderTrend is a plus).
· Knowledge of local residential building codes and inspection processes.
· A passion for well-crafted work, design, and the details that elevate a remodel from good to great.
