Our New Albany, Ohio client has a contract opening for a DMS / EMS / SCADA Analyst who will provide technical support for computer Energy Management (EMS) Systems or Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and other technical infrastructure used in Transmission Operations centers. Position requires a high degree of adaptability, and a focus on meeting customer needs and continuous improvement in the systems supported.M-F 8am - 5pm OT as needed.Travel (5%) will consist of an occasional meeting in the Gahanna location as needed.Job designation is Onsite. Five (5) days a week in office.Prefers candidates local to central Ohio. Will consider qualified candidates from other areas if the candidate has a purpose other than accepting the position for the relocation. Essential Job Functions & Tasks:Provide support/guidance or assist in providing support to less qualified Analysts on problem resolution.Train lower-level Analysts in specific equipment and software support activities.Maintain reliable operations of the EMS and SCADA systemsImprove and make recommendations to improve the quality and reliability of EMS and SCADA data and related servicesMaintain real-time data interfacesDevelop/improve/implement EMS and SCADA tools and softwareKeep EMS and SCADA tools up-to-date with current technologiesBuild and maintain custom EMS and SCADA one-line displaysPerform modeling, check-out and commissioning of Remote Terminal UnitsBuild and maintain EMS and SCADA modelsDefine and make recommendation to implement internal EMS and SCADA standardsDefine and implement Human Performance Initiative rules and Key Performance Indicators around SCADA processesProtection and Control SCADA: Provide some technical support Assist Protection and Control Engineering (PCE) SCADA Standards and Production activities related to Transmission. Assist in areas of standards development, scoping, RTU setting creation, and implementation troubleshooting. A high ability to organize and coordinate customer needs will be required.Protection and Control SCADA Able to scope small / medium SCADA projects with limited supervision and able to provide detailed feedback on scoping questions to PCE / TelecomAble to identify issues with processes and tools and provide possible solutions and provide input to more seasoned personnel.Able to complete complex RPA with both new and legacy aspects. Completes RPA with limited supervision.Able to complete complex RTU configuration with both new and legacy aspects. Completes configuration with limited supervision.Beginning to expand communication technology competency to include legacy applications (Async, Sync, AEP, etc)Able to support stakeholders with common SCADA related issues.Able to complete alarm and basic I/O 2411 settings for both greenfield and brownfield projects with limited supervision.Implements standards in appropriate measures with limited guidance from higher-level team members.Assists higher level team members with overall SCADA compliance items.Lead training activity as part of advancement for other team and group members under Transmission University (TU) initiative and training center progression training. Requirements:Associates Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related Technical field or higher from an accredited college/university or high school diploma and two years related military or electric utility technical experience.Three years DMS/EMS/SCADA experience with Associates Degree and five years of experience with a high school diploma.Individuals with a Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of DMS/EMS/SCADA experience may be considered for entry into the organization at this level in addition to the DMS/EMS/SCADA experience noted above.Demonstrate detailed understanding of operational practices of applicable equipment and software in assigned areas of knowledgeStrong skills in communication, issue resolution, organization, and facilitation are essential.Solid understanding of the business unit / operating company systems is preferred.Experience with SCADA systems required.Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution in assigned areas of knowledge.Provide after-hours support for the EMS/SCADA systems as needed.Learning current technology utilized by client and understanding how it applies to SCADA.Able to understand basic Protection and Control application and the affect it has on overall SCADA.Begins to gain an understanding of what each type of equipment is in the substation with guidance from higher-level team memberDetailed knowledge is required in two of the following areas: Application developmentOperating System supportComputer system administrationDatabase technologies and supportReference: 1045387Worried that you don’t meet every single requirement listed in the job ad?
