What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Account Manager position at Hive 9?
We’re looking for an experienced and strategic Customer Account Manager to join our New York team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on relationship building, strategic thinking, and delivering measurable results for clients across multiple locations and industries.
As a Customer Account Manager, you’ll oversee a portfolio of regional and national accounts, guiding them through ongoing projects, identifying opportunities for growth, and ensuring they receive the highest level of service. You’ll collaborate with internal teams in marketing, operations, and analytics to build and execute plans that deliver meaningful outcomes.
You’ll also play an important part in shaping client strategies and developing case studies that highlight success stories and best practices, helping future clients understand the impact of your work.
Day to Day Responsibilities
You’ll be the main point of contact for several key accounts, managing both the day-to-day needs and long-term goals of each relationship. Your responsibilities will include:
- Building strong relationships with decision-makers across multiple client locations in New York, Boston, and the Mid-Atlantic region
- Leading strategic account planning and quarterly business reviews to track performance and uncover new opportunities
- Coordinating with internal teams to deliver services on time and on budget
- Analyzing account data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement
- Creating client case studies that showcase measurable results, process improvements, and ROI achievements
- Presenting performance insights and campaign outcomes to senior client stakeholders
- Overseeing regional activations or marketing rollouts for clients with multi-location operations
- Managing contracts, renewals, and expansions with an eye toward long-term retention and growth
- Mentoring junior account staff and helping strengthen internal best practices for client management
You’ll balance the art of relationship management with the science of data-driven decision-making — ensuring every client feels supported and every project delivers value.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who has the experience, composure, and leadership to manage key client partnerships with professionalism and confidence. You’ll excel in this role if you have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or Marketing (MBA a plus)
- 5 years of experience in account management, client strategy, or customer success — ideally within marketing, SaaS, or professional services
- Experience managing regional or national accounts with multiple touchpoints or locations
- Strong analytical skills — able to interpret KPIs and turn insights into actionable plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present to executive-level stakeholders
- A proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Hands-on experience with CRM and analytics tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Google Data Studio
- A proactive approach to client relationships — anticipating needs before they become issues
If you’ve managed enterprise or high-growth clients across several regions, and have success stories or case studies that demonstrate measurable results, we want to hear about them.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary with performance-based bonuses
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits
- Paid time off (PTO) and company holidays
- Professional development support, including leadership and analytics training
- A collaborative, high-performance culture that values initiative and accountability
- Opportunity to manage multi-location accounts and lead projects that directly shape client success stories
