Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer will monitor and improve the quality of the company’s operational processes and products. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for implementing quality standards, test methods, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions by collaborating with managers, supervisors, technicians, and operators to implement quality measures. The ideal candidate will have excellent people and trouble-shooting skills as well as be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage end to end reporting of Quality data, creating and maintaining the company's Quality Management Plan, and reporting status on the Quality Management efforts.
- Participate in new product launch to ensure Quality issues are addressed throughout the development process and all stakeholders understand requirements from the beginning.
- Lead quality improvement activities in the production.
- Ensure internal and external documentation meets requirements for suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Work with Engineering and Production teams to define process parameters and criteria to ensure process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
- Take the lead on problem solving for failures or insufficiencies on quality.
- Conduct regular & irregular assessment on process and quality systems, to achieve consistency in quality performances.
- Create non-conformance reports (NCRs) for the non-conforming materials and block failed material until resampling is completed.
- Accurately document inspection results in the MRP system, inspection check sheets, and, when needed, Corrective Action Request (CAR) forms.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering, or any other related field.
- Minimum of 5 years in Quality Management.
- Knowledge of and practice with the basic Quality Tools, 8D problem solving, SPC, ANOVA, GR&R, PPAP, Cpk analysis, and other common measurement and analytical tools.
- Experienced on ISO9001 and IATF16949 requirements.
- Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and 8D methodology.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Certified as an Auditor.
