What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at Hitchiner Manufacturing?
Our Senior Quality Engineer will drive product quality, process capability, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Customers to ensure products meet stringent requirements while improving efficiency, reducing defects, and strengthening quality systems.
What You'll Do..
.Quality Assurance & Complianc
- eConduct inspections for final product and incoming materials; maintain required customer and regulatory documentatio
- nPerform internal and supplier audits aligned with ISO 9001, ISO/TS16949, and AS910
- 0Manage nonconforming material and determine appropriate disposition (rework, deviation, scrap
- )Prepare customer approval packages including PPAP, MRB, and first article documentatio
nContinuous Improvement & Data Analysi
- sSupport Six Sigma initiatives and corrective actions with structured problem‑solving (8D preferred
- )Execute statistical analysis including MSA, capability studies, DOE, SPC, PFMEA, and control plan
- sReduce scrap and rework by identifying root causes and improving process capabilit
- yOptimize manufacturing processes through equipment specification, method improvements, and new process introductio
nSupplier Quality & Collaboratio
- nAudit and develop suppliers to ensure product and facility complianc
- eMaintain supplier performance metrics in partnership with Purchasin
- gDefine incoming inspection requirements and ensure corrective actions for purchased material
sEngineering & Technical Leadershi
- pInterpret engineering requirements including drawings, PO specs, and engineering change
- sServe as technical liaison between Production Planning, Engineering, and customer
- sLead targeted improvement projects to enhance product quality and process performanc
- ePerform industrial engineering tasks such as method studies, time standards, and equipment/tooling specification
sTeam & Workplace Standard
