As Inventory & Spare Parts Manager for Hitachi Energy’s Service business in North America, you will oversee a network of warehouse and distribution locations that support field service teams, service shops, and external customers across the United States and Canada. This role blends hands‑on operational management with longer‑term planning, focusing on spare parts availability, lead‑time reduction, and continuous improvement across inventory and logistics operations. You will shape how spare parts are forecasted, stocked, moved, and supported, helping service teams respond efficiently to customer needs while balancing working capital, obsolescence, and operational performance. Your work connects directly to service reliability and customer responsiveness—both essential to keeping power grid equipment operating safely and effectively. How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Oversee daily operations across regional warehouses and field stocking locations, including inbound and outbound shipments, picking, packing, storage, and order fulfillment.
  • Maintain warehouse facilities, equipment, tools, and materials to support safe and reliable operations.
  • Develop and evolve a North American warehouse and distribution network aligned with Service business priorities.
  • Improve service levels and lead times by expanding and optimizing the distribution center network.
  • Partner with Service leadership on planning activities, operational alignment, and business initiatives.
  • Guide inventory strategies including demand forecasting, safety stock settings, replenishment models, and stocking policies.
  • Balance spare parts availability with working capital efficiency and lifecycle management, including slow‑moving and obsolete inventory.
  • Perform and oversee cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliations, and data accuracy improvements.
  • Ensure accurate ERP/CMMS data, including inventory classifications, lead times, and min/max settings.
  • Coordinate with logistics, procurement, and customer service teams to support consistent supply chain flow.
  • Improve transportation methods, routing, and freight utilization to reduce cost and improve delivery speed.
  • Establish best practices for receiving, shipping, returns, and emergency fulfillment.
  • Implement process improvements across inventory planning, warehouse workflows, and distribution activities.
  • Apply Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement practices to strengthen operational performance.
  • Champion ERP/CMMS optimization, digital tools, and analytics dashboards that support visibility and decision‑making.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures across all stocking locations.
  • Support a Safety‑First culture and partner with HSE and Quality teams during audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in warehouse operations, distribution centers, or inventory management.
