- Inspections: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welds on various projects, components, and structures.
- Compliance: Verify that welding procedures and techniques meet specified codes and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, API).
- Documentation: Review weld maps, procedures, and related documentation; maintain detailed inspection reports and records for traceability and audit purposes.
- NDT Coordination: Perform or coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as magnetic particle (MT), dye penetrant (PT), and ultrasonic (UT) testing.
- Welder Support: Provide technical assistance and guidance to welders and production teams regarding welding procedures and quality issues.
- Corrective Action: Identify, document, and track non-conformances (weld defects) and recommend corrective actions to resolve issues.
- Safety Adherence: Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA) during inspections.
