Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is seeking Machinists to join its team in support of our New, State of the Art Machine Shop. This role is vital in ensuring precision machining operations are executed efficiently during weekend shifts, supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality products. As a Weekend Machinist, you will operate CNC machines, interpret technical drawings, and utilize your mechanical expertise to produce components that meet strict specifications. Responsibilities
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by properly handling hand tools, power tools, tooling, and welding equipment.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and support lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency.
- Overhead crane trained or able to get certification to operate
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and specifications
- Edit and optimize CNC programs using G-Code and M code
- Setup and Operate CNC lathes and mills (Mazak and Mori Seki)
- Perform machine offsets, tool changes and program adjustments
- Trouble shoot machine and program issues
Requirements
- Vocational Certificate in Machining required, but proven work history in machining can be considered in lieu of Certificate or degree.
- Ability to use conversational programming is a plus
- Ability to write programs is a plus
- SAP experience is a plus
- Self-starter and works well without direct supervision
- Strict adherence to safety protocols, policies and procedures
Pay: $52,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
