- Assist in opening and closing the store includes, but are not limited to, opening procedures, ensuring everything is ready for that day, distribute cash banks; ensuring that store is properly staffed; and closing procedures, ensuring everything is ready for leaving at the end of the day.
- Maintain an open line of communication with the manager and assist manager on all issues.
- Assist in supervising sales staff to achieve goals and drive sales to meet daily sales goals; train and motivate assigned staff; review progress with the manager as needed.
- In the manager’s absence report employee issues such as severe employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints to the Retail Operations Manager or the Retail General Manager, in his/her absence.
- Greet customers with a smile and make them feel welcome; offer to assist them.
- Be knowledgeable of our products and pricing.
- Use sales techniques to drive sales to meet daily goals.
- Verify and balance cash drawer.
- Accurately produce reports and other departmental documents as assigned.
- Receive and price and stock merchandise using store procedures and standards.
- Keep the store (floors, fixtures) and the merchandise clean and organized.
- Have demonstrable sales skills
- Have excellent math
- Ability to work with money, credit cards and cash receipts.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evening, weekends and holidays
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- 1-2 years retail experience preferred
- 1 year retail supervisory experience preferred.
- Have a passion for helping people and making their Boston experience a memorable one.
- Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing.
