What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wedding and Event Planner position at Historic Rosemont Manor?
Qualifications: A minimum of two years of wedding or event planning required. The candidate must be poised and people-friendly, have good writing skills, be dedicated to excellent customer service, motivated, articulate, flexible, and detail-oriented. The applicant must have the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work with little supervision. Computer proficiency a must. Knowledge of wedding fashion and design, floral design, and catering a plus. Basic sewing skills a plus. Professional wedding planning certifications a plus.
Responsibilities include all aspects of wedding and event planning, execution and follow up of one-hour elopements to 400 guest wedding gala weekends. Tasks include effectively communicating venue wedding amenities and associated costs to potential brides during initial tours; marketing the venue at bridal shows; completing wedding venue contracts; conducting virtual and face-to-face planning meeting with brides, couples, parents, and vendors; successfully creating and executing a bride’s itinerary on her wedding day; interfacing and effectively directing various wedding vendors and Rosemont support staff; and closing out final invoices and processing feedback from wedding party and guests.
Other Duties as with all staff members include filing, answering office phones, taking reservations, and learning the reservation systems. Executive and corporate retreat planning and support during the week days will also be expected from time to time. Will assist in other Rosemont staff and independent contracts’ duties when necessary. Work week will vary. Expect to work weekends on a regular basis. Management may assign different days or varying hours depending on workload. Drug testing and background check required.
