Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Prepare tissue specimens by grossing, processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting for microscopic analysis.
- Follow established laboratory procedures to ensure specimen integrity and quality control.
- Accurately label and document all samples, maintaining meticulous records of processing steps.
- Assist with specimen collection and processing from clinical sources, ensuring proper handling and preservation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by adhering to proper techniques and safety standards.
- Support laboratory operations by calibrating equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with pathologists and healthcare professionals to facilitate accurate diagnosis and research outcomes.
Requirements
- Prior experience in clinical or research laboratory settings, particularly in histology or pathology.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques including tissue embedding, microtomy (sectioning), staining (H&E and special stains), and slide preparation.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology concepts relevant to tissue analysis.
- Experience with specimen collection procedures.
- Understanding of laboratory safety protocols including handling hazardous materials.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and quality assurance throughout the process.
