As a part of Citi's effort to reduce risk, improve efficiencies and minimize complexity of operations, the Controllers Data Team is responsible for the timely and adequate implementation of the Citi Data Management Policy (CDGP) for the Controllers Group and work with the Finance CDO to support the implementation of enhancements to Citi's Data Operating Model (DOM) in relation to data consumed or produced by the Controllers organization.
The team is responsible for understanding the concerns of the stakeholders within the Controllers organization relative to data quality and availability to assess required solutions to address those issues ensuring to coordinate closely with both internal and external stakeholders. They are engaged in efforts to remediate the issues through engagement with resolution teams, bridging the gap between the technology teams and the business teams. The focus will be to satisfy the data needs of the Controllers organization with data that is high quality and fit for purpose.
The Data Governance Sr Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
Responsibilities:
Directs key initiatives within the business through the collection, analysis, review, reporting, documentation and communication of data to develop key metrics and design/develop automated solutions according to business needs and requirements.
- Deals with complex and highly variable data collection and reporting issues with substantial potential business impact.
- Engage with key stakeholders across multiple functions and businesses to understand business problems and drive data adoption
- Build/Manage/Support Data Analytics Solution using modern design and architecture techniques
- Adopt an open and analytical mindset in evaluating the variety of data management / data governance tools used in Citi that help drive the overall enterprise data strategy
- Applies ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution in complicated and/or novel situations.
- Advises or coach to new or lower level personnel in the business processes and procedures of area supported.
- Provides in-depth and sophisticated data analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Influences strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel or provided services that have direct impact on the business.
- Utilizes excellent communication skills required to influence and negotiate with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external parties.
- Requires complex judgments and solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
- In-depth analysis with interpretive thinking will be required. Applies ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution in complicated and/or novel situations.
- Potentially Interact with regulators.
- Leads enterprise wide working group meetings on performance metrics. Captures requirements, develop delivery plans and manage the entire lifecycle of metrics and report production.
Develops SLA's, initiate and lead process reengineering to continually drive efficiencies across the management information process. Additional responsibilities include senior relationship management and coordination.
Performs other duties and functions as assigned. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
10 years experience in a related role.
* Subject matter expert in more than one related area
* Substantial experience in a senior leadership role
* Advanced understanding of technology and industry trends and infrastructure platforms
* Client focused, able to operate as partner to senior business stakeholders
Education: * Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially
Masters degree.
