Citi Securities Services offers the full spectrum of products including Fund Accounting, Investment Accounting, Fund Administration, Middle Office Services, Performance and Risk Analytics, Transfer Agency, and Custody across the globe.
To meet the objectives of the business, Securities Services Technology is undergoing an exciting digital transformation program to improve agility, scalability and efficiency. We have a strategy, have committed budget, and are assembling a world-class team to execute the digital transformation strategy.
Funds Services Technology is part of Securities Services Technology organization. We deliver innovative engineering Middle and Back Office solutions for world's largest institutional investors across 5 key services: Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, Middle Office, Exchange Traded Funds and Fiduciary. Our systems facilitate trade capture and enrichment, pricing, corporate actions, accountancy and valuation, reconciliations, reporting and client experience. We are currently driving a complex portfolio of multi-year technology transformation initiatives across multiple domains and functions to modernize our application portfolio, support the growth of the Securities Services businesses, increase operations automation and improve our risk and control landscape.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be a strategic technology leader with modern architecture skills and a track record of leading global developer teams. The candidate will collaborate with business, product, operations, and technology leaders to define and execute the Fund Services Technology platform strategy. It is expected the candidate will have demonstrated ways to improve developer productivity and quality. The candidate should have effective communications to influence and inspire across a large, global company. They will be resilient and persistent in executing, overcoming obstacles, and delivering business value from technology investments. The ability to take complex business and technical concepts and covey them simply will be an important skill. As with all Citi employees, a successful candidate will have a strong value system, unwavering commitment to ethics, and ensure compliance with all risk and regulatory frameworks.
Key responsibilities:
- Work with the Managing Directors of Fund Services on the business and Operations team to develop and execute on our Fund Services Tech strategy, which differentiates Citi, increases market share, and uses technology to disrupt the status quo.
- Define a target state, building both functional and technical reference architectures for a large portfolio of diverse platforms
- Innovate to invent and simplify our technology stack.
- Increase our use of cloud-based solutions.
- Decouple applications and move toward event-drive microservices architecture.
- Lead and upskill a high-performing technology team of engineers, including increasing the number of Citi-employed engineers.
- Implement steps to increase developer productivity (DORA metrics) and engagement.
- Deliver consistent high-quality products, ensuring systems are robust, reliable, and fully compliant with Citi's engineering excellence standards and principles.
- Provide technical thought leadership and expertise across the Securities Services technology organization.
- Manage and optimize our use of third-party vendor staff.
- Build the strategy and effectively manage our software vendor relationships.
- Collaborate and partner with senior leaders across technology and product disciplines.
- Deliver solutions that comply with Citi Risk & Control and regulatory guidelines.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- 15 years of demonstrated senior technology leadership experience building modern applications
- 7 years managerial experience in leading high-performing multi-disciplinary engineering or data teams, with a track record for attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent.
- 5 of data and digital cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Hands-on technology leader with the ability to evaluate new technologies and trends, and promotes and thrives in a culture of collaboration, partnerships, inclusion, and diversity.
- Track record of successfully leading global development teams and improving developer productivity.
- Strong talent focus and ability to successfully recruit and develop engaged developer teams
- Experience adopting and using Agile frameworks
- Knowledge of external and internal systems integration through use of APIs.
- Exceptional ability to communicate, influence, and engage across all levels within Citi.
- Track record of effectively managing and delivering value with third-party consultants and software vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to take an organization from a perspective of legacy technology to a position of industry leading technology innovation
- Analytical problem solver approaching challenges with a clear eye on what it important, employing the right approach/methods to make the maximum use of time and human resources.
- Ability to organize and prioritize critical information to facilitate efficient decision making, providing oversight and guidance to team members in implementing successful projects.
- Experience delivering on risk & control commitments.
Qualifications
- Degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field, Masters desirable.
- Agile certification desirable.
