The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team.
The overall objective of this role is to design and implement scalable software solutions supporting enterprise credit risk analytics within Citi's wholesale credit risk technology organization
This is a hands-on role developing backend services to support functions such as stress testing (e.g. CCAR) and credit loss reserves (CECL, IFRS9 ) to name a few.
You will work with the other developers, business analysts and product managers as your key stakeholders to ensure we are meeting their requirements to develop and drive highly scalable product. You will also contribute to the team's strategy around development and deployment best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Risk, Finance and Technology teams to ensure appropriate understanding of requirements and design proper functional and technical solutions
- Participate in design, coding and testing of software solutions
- Help develop and enforce standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
- Contribute to research, POCs and suggest for new projects within the Credit Risk Technology function
- Serve as advisor or coach to junior developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 8-12 years of hands-on experience building applications leveraging Java building scalable backend services and/or batch processes. Hands on experience in python a plus.
- Experience in messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Experience using SQL\NoSQL DB technologies (Oracle, MS SQL, Mongo DB, etc.) and in memory caching and searching technologies
- Experience deploying fault-tolerant distributed systems on Linux in a cloud environment and familiar with cloud computing concepts and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift)
- Demonstrable appetite for taking on challenges and leveraging new technologies
- Experience working in fast paced development environments with often many unknowns
- Demonstrable excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
- Financial services is a plus
- Python is a plus
Education:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Master's degree preferred
