Job Overview
The Human Trafficking Advocate stands in the gap—hand-in-hand with survivors
of sex and labor trafficking—serving not as the hero, but as the steady presence
that amplifies each survivor’s voice and choice. Through trauma-informed
advocacy and supportive case management, this role helps bring visibility to what
has too often gone unseen, ensuring survivors are heard, supported, and never
overlooked.
Advocates walk alongside survivors as they navigate complex systems, access
critical resources, and move toward safety and stability—offering consistency,
compassion, and belief in their strength every step of the way. This work is about
shining a light, magnifying resilience, and helping create the conditions where
survivors can move forward on their own terms.
Duties
- Provide trauma-informed advocacy and supportive case management to
- Conduct intake, trafficking screening, and needs assessments to determine
- Maintain caseload of survivors, providing ongoing support, follow-up, and
- Develop individualized service plans and safety plans in collaboration with
- Assist survivors in accessing services including housing, healthcare, legal
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support as needed.
- Provide advocacy during appointments, court hearings, and other system
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services in accordance
certification standards.
- Provide overnight shift coverage on a waiting to be engaged basis as
in-person advocacy and support to survivors when needed. This includes
required documentation of services including mandatory end of shift
reports.
- Participate in a rotating schedule for evening ride-alongs with law
- Attend staff meetings, supervision, and required trainings.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or related field preferred;
preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in human trafficking victim advocacy, case
- Experience working with survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence,
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and survivor-centered advocacy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a larger caseload and complex cases.
- Strong crisis intervention, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- 9am-5:30pm Tuesday-Friday; Mental Health Day (Monday); Remote hotline
- 9am-5:30pm Monday-Wednesday, Friday; Mental Health Day (Thursday);
- 12:30pm-9:00pm Monday-Thursday; Mental Health Day (Friday); Remote hotline
- Shift= waiting to be engaged, $36 stipend per shift, $25 engaged rate. Advocate
