The Hispanic-American Institute (www.hainst.org) is a forward-looking nonprofit organization with offices in Boston MA, Albuquerque NM and San Juan PR. We provide a variety of community services under grants and contracts with the federal and state government, foundations, and corporations. We have a staff of ten employees and various contractors and vendors and operate with an annual budget of about $1.2 million.
The Institute is a lean-management, entrepreneurial organization that supports emerging communities and businesses in Spanish and English.
The Institute's Boston office (www.hispanicamericaninstitutema.com) focuses on providing training and technical assistance to Hispanic owned and operated businesses to help them succeed in their chosen field. We are currently seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) business development leader with training in public and/or business administration who can help the Institute secure foundation and government grants and help our small business clients succeed in their chosen enterprises. This Boston-area based leader should be interested in bid and proposal preparation, and have bilingual written and verbal communications skills in English and Spanish. The position offers the opportunity to interact with foundation, corporate, and government decision-makers. This leader would work remotely and on-site at our East Boston office and report to the Executive Vice President. The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree or higher. This contract position pays $30/hour for 20 hours per week. Based on performance the position can lead to extended and full-time employment.
