Role Description: The Development Services Assistant is a full-time, on-site flex role based in Miami, FL, supporting the development and fundraising functions of His House Children’s Home. This position assists with donor relations by responding to inquiries, preparing acknowledgments, and maintaining accurate records to help ensure a positive donor experience. The role includes providing general administrative support such as managing correspondence, organizing files, scheduling meetings & coordinating schedules/calendars, preparing reports, and assisting with data entry. The Development Services Assistant will coordinate special events and campaigns, including logistics, materials preparation, and participant communication as needed. The individual in this role collaborates with other team members and departments to support fundraising initiatives and promote the organization’s mission in a professional, service-oriented manner.
Compensation: Varies based on experience $45,000 - $50,000 annually with employee benefits.
Qualifications:
- Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to interact professionally with donors, visitors, staff, and external partners.
- Commitment to Customer/donor Service and Customer/donor Satisfaction, with a focus on timely, courteous, and accurate responses to donor and stakeholder needs.
- Proficiency in Administrative Assistance, including organizing information, managing schedules, handling correspondence, and maintaining databases and records.
- Basic to advanced computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and data entry; experience with donor or CRM software (Raiser's Edge NXT) is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Interest in or experience with nonprofit organizations, social services, or child welfare is highly beneficial.
- Associate's degree or 60 credits in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Plus 1-2 years of administrative, development, fundraising or nonprofit experience preferred.
