Position Summary

The General Manager / Chief Broadcasting Officer (CBO) is responsible for leading and overseeing the entire broadcasting network and studio operations. This executive role drives network vision, revenue growth, programming strategy, OTT expansion, production oversight, and day-to-day operational execution.

This is a media-facing leadership role responsible for scaling the network across streaming platforms (Roku, FireTV, AppleTV, Web, Mobile Apps), strengthening programming quality, optimizing studio workflow, and building a sustainable, revenue-generating broadcast ecosystem.

The CBO ensures alignment between content, distribution, monetization, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network Vision & Strategy

  • Execute the long-term vision and growth strategy for the broadcasting network
  • Develop and implement network programming strategy
  • Identify content expansion opportunities (live, on-demand, syndicated, original programming)
  • Oversee brand consistency across all broadcast platforms
  • Evaluate and expand distribution channels (OTT, mobile apps, website, third-party syndication)

2. Revenue Growth & Monetization

  • Drive revenue growth across:
  • OTT subscriptions
  • Pay-per-view (PPV)
  • Advertising & sponsorships
  • Program partnerships
  • Content syndication
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to maximize monetization of programming
  • Analyze performance metrics and optimize revenue streams
  • Develop new monetization models for streaming and digital media

3. OTT & Platform Expansion

  • Lead expansion across Roku, FireTV, AppleTV, mobile apps, and web platforms
  • Oversee app functionality, content placement, and user experience
  • Ensure proper content management and metadata optimization
  • Work with tech vendors and development teams to improve platform performance
  • Monitor analytics and user engagement data to guide growth decisions

4. Programming & Content Oversight

  • Oversee programming strategy and scheduling
  • Approve new shows, formats, and talent partnerships
  • Maintain content quality and alignment with organizational mission
  • Ensure proper distribution of content across:
  • Apps
  • Website
  • Social channels
  • Third-party platforms
  • Oversee archiving, organization, and repurposing of media assets

5. Production & Studio Operations

  • Oversee all studio operations and production workflow
  • Ensure smooth execution of live broadcasts and recorded productions
  • Improve operational efficiency within studio teams
  • Develop SOPs for production standards and quality control
  • Oversee equipment management and technical performance
  • Coordinate production calendars with programming strategy

6. Staff Leadership & Management

  • Lead and manage broadcasting and production teams
  • Establish KPIs and accountability standards
  • Hire, train, and develop media personnel
  • Create clear reporting structures within the network
  • Foster a culture of excellence, execution, and innovation

7. Operations & Workflow Optimization

  • Manage day-to-day network operations
  • Eliminate inefficiencies and production bottlenecks
  • Develop repeatable systems for:
  • Content scheduling
  • Uploading & metadata management
  • App publishing
  • Studio coordination
  • Align marketing, programming, and production calendars

Qualifications

  • 7 years in broadcasting, digital media, OTT, or streaming operations
  • Proven experience managing a studio or media network
  • Strong understanding of OTT platforms (Roku, FireTV, AppleTV)
  • Experience driving revenue growth in media environments
  • Deep knowledge of programming strategy and content monetization
  • Strong leadership and operational management experience
  • Ability to scale media infrastructure
  • Data-driven decision maker

Preferred:

  • Experience in faith-based or mission-driven media
  • Experience launching or scaling streaming platforms
