About The Role

Myticas Consulting is seeking multiple Industrial Cybersecurity Consultants to support a leading industrial/engineering organization in the Richmond / Glen Allen, VA area. You will independently execute key parts of cybersecurity projects, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, secure industrial network design, and implementation of cybersecurity controls aligned to frameworks such as NIST CSF and NIST RMF. This is a highly hands-on field consulting role with 80–100% in-state travel to client locations, ideal for someone who enjoys being on-site in real-world industrial environments rather than behind a desk all day.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct cybersecurity vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on IT and OT networks for compliance and security purposes
  • Identify and diagnose operational security issues in industrial environments and implement design changes to address them
  • Design, recommend, and help implement technical controls (e.g., firewalls, access control, authentication, logging) for secure process control and industrial networks
  • Perform detailed post-event analysis of unusual security events and recommend updates to procedures, processes, and controls
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, firewall/service configurations, and technical reports for stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to explain findings, remediation options, and business impacts
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity, protecting the confidentiality and security of all client and project information, and comply with all policies and standards

Requirements

  • Based in Virginia within commuting distance of Richmond / Glen Allen, VA, with ability to travel 80–100% to client sites using a personal vehicle (valid driver’s license required)
  • Minimum 3 years of professional cybersecurity experience in IT and/or OT environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field
  • Hands-on experience performing cybersecurity vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, including use of common tools and techniques
  • Experience working with or securing industrial control systems (ICS/SCADA) or PLC-based OT networks
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship and able to work on a W2 basis

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Modbus communication protocol
  • Experience implementing or assessing cybersecurity controls aligned to NIST CSF, NIST RMF, or similar industry frameworks
  • Background securing control systems in sectors such as utilities, manufacturing, oil and gas, transportation, or smart buildings/smart cities
  • One or more relevant cybersecurity or ICS-related certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, GICSP, GRID, or similar)
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience documenting network architectures, security controls, and assessment findings
