This is a highly hands-on field consulting role with 80–100% in-state travel to client locations, ideal for someone who enjoys being on-site in real-world industrial environments rather than behind a desk all day.

Responsibilities
- Conduct cybersecurity vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on IT and OT networks for compliance and security purposes
- Identify and diagnose operational security issues in industrial environments and implement design changes to address them
- Design, recommend, and help implement technical controls (e.g., firewalls, access control, authentication, logging) for secure process control and industrial networks
- Perform detailed post-event analysis of unusual security events and recommend updates to procedures, processes, and controls
- Develop and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, firewall/service configurations, and technical reports for stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to explain findings, remediation options, and business impacts
- Maintain the highest level of integrity, protecting the confidentiality and security of all client and project information, and comply with all policies and standards
- Based in Virginia within commuting distance of Richmond / Glen Allen, VA, with ability to travel 80–100% to client sites using a personal vehicle (valid driver’s license required)
- Minimum 3 years of professional cybersecurity experience in IT and/or OT environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field
- Hands-on experience performing cybersecurity vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, including use of common tools and techniques
- Experience working with or securing industrial control systems (ICS/SCADA) or PLC-based OT networks
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship and able to work on a W2 basis
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Modbus communication protocol
- Experience implementing or assessing cybersecurity controls aligned to NIST CSF, NIST RMF, or similar industry frameworks
- Background securing control systems in sectors such as utilities, manufacturing, oil and gas, transportation, or smart buildings/smart cities
- One or more relevant cybersecurity or ICS-related certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, GICSP, GRID, or similar)
- Strong technical writing skills and experience documenting network architectures, security controls, and assessment findings
