Duties
- Operate jig rip saws, CNC machines, and other woodworking equipment to accurately cut and shape wood components for millwork and construction projects
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files using AutoCAD or similar software to determine precise cutting specifications
- Measure materials with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure exact dimensions and quality standards are met
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain machinery including CNC programming for complex cuts and machining processes
- Use hand tools, power tools, and saws safely to perform detailed woodworking tasks while adhering to all safety protocols in the production environment
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment for mechanical issues; perform troubleshooting and minor repairs as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace in compliance with safety standards in production while documenting production logs and quality checks
Skills
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints for accurate manufacturing processes
- Strong mechanical knowledge of woodworking machinery including jig rip saws, CNC machines, mills, and sawmills
- Experience with CNC programming and operation to produce precise cuts from complex designs
- Skilled in the use of calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment for detailed machining tasks
- Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments to ensure a safe workspace for all team members
- Construction experience or carpentry skills that enhance understanding of wood properties and assembly techniques
- Warehouse experience with inventory management, material handling using forklifts, and workflow coordination
