Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Customer Support Engineer to serve as the primary liaison between the customer plant and manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for supporting quality operations, investigating non-conformances, coordinating containment activities, and ensuring timely issue resolution within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary communication link between the customer plant and manufacturing teams
- Perform first-level analysis of non-conforming materials and product issues
- Inspect and verify suspect products and coordinate containment activities
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes
- Maintain and manage product test equipment
- Coordinate same-day return and escalation of non-conforming materials
- Enter and manage data within the Incident Reporting System (IRS)
- Track and monitor customer quality metrics including PPM rates
- Participate in issue resolution and response teams
- Prepare weekly quality and trip reports
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
- 6–10 years of relevant manufacturing or quality engineering experience
- Strong experience within automotive or industrial manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of containment, non-conformance handling, and quality inspection processes
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer communication and coordination skills
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, Email, and reporting systems
