Job Description:
We are seeking an Engineer II – Field Quality to support capital projects at power generating facilities across Colorado. In this role, you will work closely with 20–25 Project Managers and plant teams to develop and execute quality management plans, perform field inspections, and ensure that contractor work meets all plans, specifications, and quality standards.
This is a hands-on, field-focused engineering role in industrial environments—ideal for engineers who like being on site rather than behind a desk all day.
Responsibilities:
- Driving to different power plants in Colorado a few days a week
- Walking the site and checking the work that contractors are doing
- Making sure the work matches the drawings, specs, and quality standards
- Catching issues/defects and helping the project team get them fixed
- Writing up field reports and updating quality plans for each project
- Working closely with project managers and plant staff, not managing people
- Spending about one day a week at home or in an office doing paperwork, plan reviews, and documentation
Must Have Skills:
- 3–7 years of relevant experience (5–7 years preferred) in an industrial setting, such as:
Power generation
Oil & gas
Utilities
- Heavy industrial facilities or large capital projects
- Hands-on experience in quality, inspection, or QA/QC in construction or maintenance, including:
Inspecting and testing procedures
Identifying construction defects/nonconformances
- Bachelor’s degree (required) in one of the following:
- Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
- Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- Civil or Structural Engineering (acceptable)
- Construction Management (acceptable)
