Psychiatric Nurse

• We are seeking a Emergency Psych RN
• Location:- Lewiston, ME 04240
• Contract Duration:- 13 weeks
• Shift:- Nights 7p-7a
• Pay range:- $65.89 to $70.55/hr.

Required Qualifications:-

• At least 1 year previous experience in mental health nursing Required
• 2-Year Associates degree required
• Valid Stat of Maine RN license
• BLS Certification required and DL Copy
• CPI training must be current prior to start

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, mental status examinations, and physical evaluations.
• Administer medications safely, including injections and IV infusions, following proper aseptic techniques.
• Monitor patient responses to treatments and document findings accurately in medical records using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, incorporating trauma medicine, geriatrics, or pediatrics as applicable.
• Provide therapeutic support and counseling to patients experiencing acute pain, behavioral health issues, or dementia-related conditions such as Alzheimer's or dementia care.
• Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and imaging procedures like sonography or mammography when necessary.
• Manage airway support and ventilator care for critically ill patients in ICU or Level I/II trauma center settings.
• Educate patients and families on medication management, discharge planning, nutrition, and health coaching tailored to specific needs such as hospice & palliative medicine or working with people with disabilities.
• Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive medical documentation and patient records.
