- We are seeking a Emergency Psych RN
- Location:- Lewiston, ME 04240
- Contract Duration:- 13 weeks
- Shift:- Nights 7p-7a
- Pay range:- $65.89 to $70.55/hr.
Required Qualifications:-
- At least 1 year previous experience in mental health nursing Required
- 2-Year Associates degree required
- Valid Stat of Maine RN license
- BLS Certification required and DL Copy
- CPI training must be current prior to start
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, mental status examinations, and physical evaluations.
- Administer medications safely, including injections and IV infusions, following proper aseptic techniques.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and document findings accurately in medical records using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, incorporating trauma medicine, geriatrics, or pediatrics as applicable.
- Provide therapeutic support and counseling to patients experiencing acute pain, behavioral health issues, or dementia-related conditions such as Alzheimer's or dementia care.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and imaging procedures like sonography or mammography when necessary.
- Manage airway support and ventilator care for critically ill patients in ICU or Level I/II trauma center settings.
- Educate patients and families on medication management, discharge planning, nutrition, and health coaching tailored to specific needs such as hospice & palliative medicine or working with people with disabilities.
- Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive medical documentation and patient records.
