Job Summary
The Production Technician is responsible for operating chemical processes and supporting production activities in a safe, efficient, and team-oriented environment. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Job Description
- Operate and monitor chemical production processes to meet quality and production targets
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to ensure continuous operations
- Prioritize daily tasks in coordination with Production Leads and Supervisors
- Participate in and promote a strong safety culture, including monthly safety meetings
- Follow and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials
- Assemble, disassemble, and perform basic maintenance on production equipment
- Issue safe work permits and adhere to all safety protocols
- Complete all required training and support cross-training efforts
- Contribute to continuous improvement and team collaboration
Skills Required
- Work in warehouse, clean room, and production environments
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals (corrosive, toxic, flammable, water-reactive)
- Required PPE includes steel-toe boots and flame-resistant (FR) clothing (provided)
- Operate forklifts and occasionally work at heights up to 30 feet
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be clean-shaven to safely wear respiratory equipment
- Ability to wear full-face respirators, SCBA, and encapsulated suits
- Must pass medical and physical evaluations for respirator use
- Experience in manufacturing or chemical processing environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- High level of hazard awareness and commitment to safety
- Ability to work day or night shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to learn technical processes quickly in a dynamic environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to perform under pressure
Preferred:
- 2 years of experience in process operations or chemical handling
- Experience with mechanical or electrical systems
- Knowledge of analytical processes and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and 5S principles
- Computer proficiency
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Preferred: Associate’s Degree in Applied Science or related field
Pay Rate
- $18 - $22 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
