Position Summary
- Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven QA Manager to lead all Quality Assurance functions within a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment.
- This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems that ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and our client's operational objectives.
- The QA Manager will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain, and customers to drive continuous improvement, enhance product reliability, and support operational excellence.
- The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, extensive quality management experience, and a proven track record in electronics manufacturing services (EMS), contract manufacturing, or related industries.
- Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Lead and maintain the site's Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, TL9000, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Establish and maintain quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and process controls.
- Ensure continuous compliance with internal, customer, and external certification requirements.
- Drive quality culture initiatives throughout the organization.
- Quality Operations
- Oversee Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), and Quality Engineering functions.
- Develop quality performance indicators and monitor key metrics, including:
- First Pass Yield (FPY)
- Defects Per Million (DPPM)
- Customer Returns
- Cost of Quality (COQ)
- Corrective Action Closure Rates
- Review quality trends and implement improvement plans to achieve operational objectives.
- Customer Quality Management
- Serve as the primary escalation point for customer quality concerns.
- Manage customer audits, assessments, and quality reviews.
- Lead customer complaint investigations and ensure timely resolution through structured corrective actions.
- Build strong customer relationships to ensure quality expectations are met and exceeded.
- Continuous Improvement
- Facilitate root cause analysis utilizing:
- 8D Methodology
- Fishbone Analysis
- 5 Why Methodology
- PFMEA and DFMEA
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Drive CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) programs.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce defects and improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Supplier Quality Management
- Partner with Supply Chain and Supplier Quality teams to improve supplier performance.
- Monitor supplier quality metrics and corrective action effectiveness.
- Participate in supplier audits, qualification activities, and performance reviews.
- Lead supplier quality improvement projects when required.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Manage and develop Quality Engineers, Quality Supervisors, Technicians, and Inspectors.
- Establish performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to quality personnel.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.
- New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Support NPI projects from design transfer through mass production.
- Participate in process validation, qualification, and readiness reviews.
- Ensure quality controls are established during product launches.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive quality experience in electronics manufacturing, EMS, contract manufacturing, or related industries.
- Minimum 3 years of management or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of quality methodologies, statistical analysis, and process improvement tools.
- Experience managing customer audits and quality performance metrics.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional quality initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab, ERP systems, and quality reporting tools.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), or equivalent certification.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience supporting Fortune 500 technology customers.
- Experience within telecommunications, networking, AI server, data center, cloud computing, or electronics manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with IPC standards, ESD controls, and electronics assembly quality requirements.
- Strong leadership and employee development capabilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and process controls.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong understanding of risk assessment and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods within an office and manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to conduct audits and inspections throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
- Fast-paced electronics manufacturing and office environment.
- Frequent interaction with production personnel, engineers, managers, customers, and suppliers.
- May require flexibility in work hours to support production schedules, audits, customer visits, and critical business needs.
