Yard Assistant

The Basics: HireQuest Direct is hiring aYard Assistant to join our clients team in Kent, WA. This position supports the daily operations of the yard ensuring a clean, organized, and safe working environment for all employees and
drivers. This is a great opportunity for someone dependable, hands-on, and ready to work outdoors
in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Separate and sort plastic waste containers (usable vs. damaged).
• Wash and prepare reusable containers.
• Disassemble and dispose of damaged units.
• Assemble new carts for delivery to customer homes.
• Perform weekly container counts and maintain accurate inventory.
• Maintain the yard by:
  • Operating a forklift to move materials and equipment.
  • Trimming vegetation, trees, and maintaining general cleanliness.
  • Sweeping and leaf blowing work areas.
• Organize bulky item containers by disposal site.
• Maintain truck washing stations used by drivers.
• Perform light maintenance on hoses, tools, and washing equipment.
• Assist with additional yard or maintenance tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Basic mechanical or maintenance skills a plus.
• Forklift experience preferred (training may be provided).
• Dependable, safety-minded, and detail-oriented.
