Accounting Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead daily accounting operations, manage financial reporting, and drive process improvements for multi-state organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financials, maintaining a strong internal control environment, and supporting strategic business decisions through insightful reporting and analysis.

Geography and Relocation Assistance: Candidates will be expected to work out of the office in Denver on a hybrid basis. The company will also support relocation for those looking to move to Denver.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and tax compliance.
• Lead the month-end close process and ensure the timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Interpret financial results, identify performance trends, and provide variance analysis to support strategic planning.
• Work cross-functionally with teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
• Partner with operational teams to deliver data-driven insights aimed at improving profitability and managing costs.
• Coordinate audit preparation efforts, maintain accurate financial records, and support external audit engagements.
• Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Guide, mentor, and develop the accounting team; oversee task allocation and performance management.
• Participate in special projects such as financial system upgrades, automation efforts, and advanced financial modeling.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; active CPA certification required. Public accounting experience required.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, including experience managing or leading a team.
• Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
• Strong Excel skills; familiarity with Power BI, ERP systems, or financial reporting tools is a plus.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Proven track record of leading teams, working cross-functionally, and driving process improvement.
