Inventory & Purchasing Manager

Join a HireLevel client in a direct hire role as an Inventory & Purchasing Manager in Maryland Heights, MO and take ownership of a newly created role within a growing telecommunications organization. This position will lead purchasing, inventory control, vendor management, and supply chain operations while helping build the processes, systems, and team needed to support continued growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on supply chain professional who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and building a function from the ground up. The Inventory & Purchasing Manager will serve as the company's purchasing leader, oversee inventory valuation and procurement activities, and play a key role in developing the purchasing module within NetSuite.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing, procurement, and inventory management activities.
• Build and optimize purchasing processes and workflows within NetSuite.
• Manage inventory levels, replenishment planning, and demand forecasting.
• Establish inventory controls and ensure inventory accuracy.
• Evaluate inventory and equipment to determine fair market value and proper valuation.
• Develop and maintain vendor and supplier relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and purchasing agreements.
• Partner with sales and operations teams to align purchasing strategies with business needs.
• Create reporting and analytics related to inventory performance and purchasing activities.
• Identify process improvements and drive supply chain efficiencies.
• Establish the foundation for a growing purchasing department and train future team members.

Qualifications

• 3 years of purchasing, inventory, procurement, or supply chain experience required.
• Ideal background includes 4-6 years of progressive experience.
• Experience within telecommunications, distribution, wholesale, technology products, or buy-and-sell business models strongly preferred.
• Experience with inventory valuation and fair market value assessment.
• ERP experience required; NetSuite experience highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build processes and support business growth.
