The Structural Technician III is responsible for assembling and fabricating major structural assemblies and performing minor part-fitting operations in an aerospace manufacturing environment. This role requires precision workmanship, strict adherence to technical documentation, and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble major structural components and aerospace vehicle assemblies
  • Perform filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming operations
  • Align parts on jigs and aerospace vehicles using templates and fixtures
  • Measure and verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, and precision tools
  • Modify incomplete and complete assemblies and incorporate engineering changes
  • Install various fasteners including rivets and hi-locks
  • Perform minor part fitting, structural repair, refinishing, and airframe corrosion removal (as applicable)
  • Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process control and other procedures
  • Inspect structures, equipment, or vehicles to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy equipment, or machinery as required

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Background in Aerospace & Defense, U.S. Department of Defense, NASA, or U.S. Military programs

  • Relevant structural assembly experience (higher-level degree may substitute for experience)
  • Must own and maintain tools in good working order
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications
  • Ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining proper edge distance and pitch
  • Progressive experience with structural assembly and minor part fitting techniques
  • Experience installing aerospace fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
