Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer to join our dedicated healthcare team. This professional performs advanced high-risk obstetric ultrasounds, assessing fetal anatomy and maternal well-being, while providing compassionate support to patients. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ultrasound imaging, structured reporting, and image management, contributing to accurate diagnoses and exceptional patient care. The role may also include routine obstetrical and gynecological ultrasounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed ultrasounds for high-risk pregnancies, including fetal anatomy assessments in line with established guidelines and physician requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive Doppler studies to evaluate fetal blood flow, placental circulation, and detect conditions such as growth restrictions, anemia, or anomalies.
- Assist with complex procedures such as amniocentesis, amnioreduction, and chorionic villi sampling (CVS) in collaboration with maternal-fetal medicine physicians.
- Monitor fetal growth through serial ultrasounds, ensuring accurate data for management of high-risk pregnancies.
- Provide compassionate guidance and support to patients regarding maternal and fetal health findings.
- Document and report all findings thoroughly for ongoing evaluation and multidisciplinary care coordination.
- Perform additional ultrasound evaluations, including first-trimester emergencies, abdominal imaging, and pediatric ultrasounds, if scheduled at relevant centers.
- Maintain accurate exam documentation in PACS and OB/GYN reporting systems to ensure compliance, quality assurance, and accessible patient records.
- Record and verify all billing charges associated with exams, resolving discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy.
Requirements:
Education:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from a CAAHEP-accredited program.
Experience:
- 0–1 year of clinical ultrasound experience is required.
Licensure/Certification:
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification in OB/GYN.
- BLS/CPR certification through an accredited organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of MFM ultrasound clinical experience.
- Additional ARDMS certifications in Abdomen and Fetal Echocardiography.
