Under the guidance of our Mammography Quality Program Manager and Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in performing mammograms and breast biopsies, adhering to the highest standards set by the ACR and FDA.Essential Responsibilities:Perform Mammography: Conduct mammography and related breast imaging procedures with precision and care.Patient Care: Assess and document patient history, ensuring their needs are met throughout the process.Assist Physicians: Collaborate with radiologists and other specialists during image-guided diagnostic and invasive procedures.Radiation Safety: Apply radiation protection principles to maintain exposure levels as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA).Infection Control: Utilize Universal Precautions and sterile techniques to minimize infection risks.Record Maintenance: Keep accurate manual and computerized patient records.Quality Control: Perform equipment quality checks and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.Mentorship: Provide guidance and instruction to students and fellow mammographers, fostering effective communication and conflict resolution.Operational Knowledge: Stay updated on departmental procedures and specialized instrumentation.Problem Solving: Assess and address equipment issues, coordinating repairs as necessary.Continuous Improvement: Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.Scheduling: Manage the scheduling of mammographic procedures efficiently.Additional Duties: Be ready to take on other responsibilities as assigned.Requirements and Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of three years in mammography, including at least one year in breast biopsy procedures.Education: High School diploma or GED; graduation from an accredited radiology program; Associate's degree or equivalent required.Licenses & Certifications:Radiologic Technologist License (Maryland)American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Mammography TechnologistRadiologic Technologist CertificationBasic Life Support CertificationAdditional Requirements:Ability to lift objects over 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.Capacity to concentrate on detailed tasks amidst interruptions for extended periods.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients.Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in Stereotactic Biopsies is highly desirable.Why Join Us?We offer a supportive work environment where you can grow your skills and make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients.
